What is an internship?

An internship is any carefully monitored work or service experience in which an individual has defiend learning goals; in addition, the observations of the program sponsor and the required written assignements actively reflects what the intern is learning throughout his/her experience.
Goals

An internship MUST experience the following and commit to 120 hours worked within a 12 week period:

  1. An exposure to a professional career in radio, motion picture, video, television, marketing or advertising.
  2. The ability to apply principles learned in and outside of the classroom.
  3. The accomplishments of meaningful assignments during his/her internship.
  4. The development of marketable skills.
  5. An understanding of his/her abilities and weaknesses.

Interns film and edit segments, do interviews as scheduled, write scripts, set up press interviews and contacts, work with our stations to create promotional spots for their stations, develop PSA Spots and film and edit them. Saturday morning hours are required twice a month or more.

All interns must work 12 hours per week and will be evaluated at the end of the 12 week period for a grade. Time sheets must be turned in to your college.
