Trey Green-A Review by Elena Tayem

Trey Green

If you like artists who never leave you confused after you listen to their songs, then you just might like Trey Green. Green was born in Memphis, Tennessee and currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts. He was once hospitalized for having “several live fish lodged in his nasal passage” and has been arrested three times for failing to move at a green light.

The world will never know the color of Green’s eyes since he wears sunglasses at all times. People would describe his music as a mix of rock and roll with a hint of country. The opening music of his songs draws the listener in. But, as soon as the lyrics to start, you turn it off immediately and hope your parents didn’t overhear what was just sung. I will give it to Green, the lyrics can be funny; especially when he personifies his buttox in his song “My Fantastic Ass.” Would I buy this CD? No.

Based on what I have learned about Trey, he probably wouldn’t care that I didn’t like his music. He is what he is, whether people like him or not. I would give this CD 2 out of 5 stars.

Off the Bus and On The Record-Coming in June!

Almost 10 years ago sisters Jaime and Amanda Rich started their own local tv show called Swept Away TV.   AT first they interviewed boy bands like NuGround and other local boy and girl groups.  In their second season they began to branch out and interview bands like Jimmy Eat World, New Found Glory and Dashboard Confessional.

The shows were soon seen on more than 67 stations and then 4500 colleges on the OSTN Network.  On the way to more than 1000 interviews more than 3300 students played a part in the show’s success.  Thanks to student director Jeff Hendler and then Zac Rich and a revolving cast of students from all over the State of Florida, the show was part of a pilot for The N, won an AEGIS award for video production along with a national TELLY award and was voted the best video show in South Florida by NewTimes.

Many of our former and current cast members are featured in the book.  Buy it, read it, you’ll laugh and enjoy it.  You will hear from Alison Sikes, Nicole Shevloff, Michelle Nash and Jeff Hendler among others.  Artists include Maroon 5, My Chemical romance, Andrew McMahon from Jack’s Mannequin, Dave Melillo, William Beckett and so many more.

Howling Bells

Last night we had a chance to interview a very unique and interesting band named Howling Bells.
They are from Australia but now call London home and they are about to release their second album in the US.
You can find their music on Itunes right now! They are opening for Coldplay on this leg of their tour and have toured the
West Coast areas with The Killers.
You can check them out here! Their sound is alternative melodic rock and their lead singer Juanita Stein has a very unique and beautiful voice.
